Toolbox Tuesday: Square

Accepting transactions anywhere just got easier with the Square Card Reader. Just download their free Square app, plug the reader into your phone or tablet and start accepting credit card payments. What’s even better is the Square Card Reader is free once you register on their website (you can also purchase card reader at a retailer).

With Square you can process Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit cards, pay 2.75% per swipe, and access your funds in 1-2 business days. Your funds are deposited directly to your linked bank account. With Square there’s NO merchant account, monthly fees or commitments.

Merchants are automatically enrolled in the standard pricing upon signing up and larger companies can ask about custom pricing.

Their fees are:
2.75% for swiped transactions, paid Square Invoices, and Square Market orders
3.5% + 15 cents for manually entered transactions.

Square also has a Market Store where you can setup a free online store and sell your products online.

The Square Card Reader and app are for Android, iPad, iPhone and iPod.

With Square you can:
